Quick article on Innisfree's Shea Butter Face mask. Definitely wasn't going to do this article but I figured that for the price , it's worth it.

Thoughts and Results


I think that I'm starting to become quite a fan of Innisfree. Their masks are really great quality and made of good quality too, the sheet isn't as impressive as their Intensive line, but the quality is still good, and I gotta say that for the price I was quite impressed. Usually, other brands offer cheaper quality sheets that would rip if one isn't careful. 
I used the Tea Tree and Cucumber ones prior to this one, and I was surprised (but really I should've known, it's shea butter !) that the essence wasn't watery like the two formers but it was more thick and milky like. 
In terms of results, it's not incredible but it's definitely good for the price and quite effective. My skin was a tad dry and I had a few bumps resulted from dryness on my cheeks and I wore this mask until it dried out : My skin was moisturized, less dry and less dull. The finish isn't sticky and most of all, I didn't wake up with an oily cast the next morning. 
This mask is definitely less expensive than the previous one I reviewed, and for its price, the results are good.




Really cheap, quick, easy and effective . My love for Asian sheet masks is resumed in those few words. Inexpensive effective skincare is Korea's and Japan's trademark thanks to the highly competitive skincare market in Asia.


KIKO- Definition Waterproof Eyeliner - Review & Swatches

Now, this eyeliner is the one I have a love-hate relationship with. For so many years, I've been looking for an actual waterproof eyeliner. You may think it's easy to find but let's add other characteristics to that : Liquid Waterproof eyeliner, matte finish, brush applicator.
I've came to realize that the best efficient , easy and most definitely fastest way to apply eyeliner for me is with a liquid liner. My go-to eye makeup look is a winged eyeliner and the main problem I have is that I have watery eyes which results in smudged eyeliner. At the end of the day, there would be no more winged eyeliner in the outer edge. A lot of companies do waterproof eyeliner but I've found that some of these eyeliners have a formula that would crumbles after wearing it for a while or just by rubbing your eyes. 

I've never been a huge fan of the brand Kiko and I rarely even go inside the store, but I'm glad I did find this.
It does everything I was looking for : Waterproof liquid eyeliner with a brush tip and settles down with a black matte finish and won't crumbles.

The thing is that the formula isn't that great. Yes, the waterproof/tearproof/budgeproof is covered but I should have realized it when the tester in the store was covered in thick black liquid : The actual liquid is thick and stringy (It gets worse after you use it for a while).



The brush isn't really precise either, you either have the hands to do a decent job with a liquid eyeliner otherwise the application might be really hard. This is so waterproof that you honestly better not mess up otherwise you'll end up having to remove it with an actual oil-based or really good makeup remover. I actually don't use this all over my eyes, I only do my cat-eye/outer line with this and I do the rest of the line with a regular liquid eyeliner, otherwise I'd have the hardest time to remove the eyeliner. Last but not least, it takes a while to dry too (blame it on the thick consistency).


Here, the first line isn't dry yet but you can tell that the liquid is a true black. The striky lines can also give you a good idea about the "precision" the brush offers.



THE TESTS

Rubbed with water :
Nothing moved apart for the first line which wasn't dry enough. 



 With regular cream based makeup remover (Barbara Gould's Démaquillant Intégral) :



After rubbing it with the Barbara Gould makeup remover, some of the thinest lines are rubbing off but the whole thing is still there :



Rubbing it with a oil-based makeup remover (Klairs' Gentle Black Deep Oil Cleanser) :




After rubbing the eyeliner with the Klairs oil :



The eyliner is pretty much gone but there're still traces, so I suggest you double cleanse.


LET'S SUM-UP

Cons

  • The brush isn't precise
  • The formula is too thick
  • Takes a while to dry
  • Hard to remove (but that's pretty much the price of being truly waterproof)
  • Hard to get a hold of if you don't live in Europe (I believe the US only has 3 stores and Africa/Asia none).

As much as I swear at this product on the mornings when it just doesn't work, I'll re-purchase it because I haven't found a better liquid liner which meets my expectations like this one does, yet.

Innisfree Intensive Ampoule Moisture Mask (Hyaluron) - Review

December in Paris and excessive use of heaters on my behalf, change my combination skin to ultra dehydrated skin with really dry cheeks resulting in bumps on my skin and dry spots, instead of going for the purple version of my beloved Lulululun masks, I thought I’d try out the Innisfree Ampoule Mask (Hyaluron) ordered in my last Testerkorea order.


Price : 3500 won ( 3$/2,60€)


What the brand says

The main focus of this mask is to moisturize the skin with Hyaluron and Aloe as main ingredients.
This 2-Step ampoule mask concentrates on treating five different skin concerns related to moisturizing, antioxidant, firming, brightening and anti-trouble. Hyaluronic acid and aloe water penetrate your skin deeply and make it hydrated and radiant.

The ampoule is 2ml and the Sheet Mask contains 20ml of product.


Ingredients :

This mask contains alcohol , and a solvent is red flagged and some others are yellow flagged. On a brighter note, this contains many natural components like oils and fruit/plant extracts)


How to use


1. After cleansing, open the deep moisturizing hyaluronic acid ampoule and smooth over your skin according to skin texture.
2. Before the ampoule penetrates your skin, take out the Intensive Sheet Mask and apply over your skin excluding the eye and lip areas.
3. Remove the sheet after 10-20 minutes and gently pat the remaining essence.

Step 1 : Ampoule   

 

Ampoule : (An ampoule is basically, a concentred essence) There’s a lot of product, so much that I even wondered if I should put all of it on my face. However, the texture of the ampoule is more like a clear gel type almost watery which makes it easier to apply and absorb by the skin (so far, gel type of product are my favorites because of how the way my skin absorbs them). I eventually put all of the product onto my face and, as you are supposed to, I quickly put the sheet mask on afterwards before my skin absorb it all.

Step 2 : Sheet Mask

The sheet mask is for once, the right size width wise for my small face, it was a tad to lengthy as always, but because this is a mask that’s supposed to be brought down the jaw, it wasn’t as uncomfortable as usual. It's an organic unbleashed sheet and wasn’t as uncomfortable to wear as the more classic cotton like sheets. The mask stuck to the face without major air bubbles or moving.
I was studying while wearing this mask and it didn’t bother me at all (I sometimes have a hard time with uncomfy cotton sheet masks) and it certainly didn’t budge. I wore it for approximately 40 minutes and removed it afterwards (don't wear your sheet masks until they dry out to avoid any dehydration issues).


Results

- Minimal stickiness after removing the sheet
- Skin doesn’t feel tight anymore but I don’t have that feeling of ultra moisturized skin;
- Brightness :  My skin looks brighter instantly
On the spot : Result isn’t oily like Lululun's tends to be.
The next morning : My skin isn’t dehydrated looking but it isn’t plump and ultra moisturized either. I feel like it didn’t quite moisturize deeply enough but that’s only because I had extreme dryness going on, for normal skin to dry skin this is perfect. Even combination to oily skin can enjoy this, as it doesn’t leave an oily cast like my Lululun masks can do. I woke up with non sticky and non oily t-zone.

End of the next day : My skin doesn’t feel and look as dehydrated and dry as the day before, and it doesn’t feel extremely tight either. My skin is visibly less bright than when I removed the sheet but it’s still less dull looking than prior to the mask.

I like this mask and would re-purchase it, if you have extremely dehydrated skin like I do right now (the Parisian cold weather isn’t doing great for me + excessive use of heater), this maybe wouldn’t be enough but to get that boost of moist, once in a while, it is worth it.
